Peach season at Alstede Farms

CHESTER, NJ. — Things are just peachy at Alstede Farms. where pick-your-own-peaches are ready for visitors to enjoy.
The first-generation farm is a pioneer in sustainable agriculture. growing more than 250 varieties of fruits and vegetables on over 600 acres of preserved farmland.
Farm owner Kurt Alstede described the different types of peaches his farm is offering. while culinary and education specialist Jenn Borealo shared a recipe for peach pudding.

FARM FRESH IN THE CITY

The Journal Square Green Market was created nearly 20 years ago as one of the first farmers markets in Jersey City. The Journal Square Restoration Corporation has operated the market since 2015. Started last May, the Journal Square Green Market features favorites from Stony Hill and Alstede Farms. The market operates on Wednesdays and Fridays, 2 to 7 p.m. until Dec. 21 in front of the Journal Square transportation center.

Alstede entices visitors with a slew of entertainment extras in addition to pick-your-own peaches. Plan your visit around the farm’s annual Peach Festival or Peaches and Pancakes Breakfast. The farm is open daily, and picking is $5.99 per person ($7.99 on weekends) plus you pay for what you pick. Unlimited access to the pony rides, bounce house, corn kingdom, and wagon train rides plus picking is $15.99 per child ($17.99 on the weekends).

Enjoy scrumptious peach treats galore! Homemade peach ice cream, peach pie, and lots more! Take a Scenic hayride around our farm to the peach orchard to pick your own peaches! And then enjoy lots of Family Fun activities (Pony Rides, Moon Bounce and more!) Something for the whole family!
