As sustainable stewards of this land we take our job seriously and are always learning innovative ways to improve our farming practices and grow the healthiest food. This season we are utilizing a new technique called No till farming for our pumpkins. Traditionally used in growing corn & soybeans we are innovating it’s use for our 35 acres of pumpkins grown on our farm.

The use of No till farming practices increases the amount of moisture that can penetrate the soil making the crop more drought resistant. No till Farming also improves the soils ability to retain more organic matter which aids in the cycling of nutrients back into the soil. No till farming reduces soil erosion and is healthier for the planet thereby not disturbing the beneficial root structures located underneath the soil minimizing compaction and providing more aeration. This practice is said to be a more sustainable model for farming providing reduction in fuel, labor and equipment costs while enhancing the overall composition of the soil thereby growing better crops.

Our production leadership team, and all of us on our farm, are so very excited and proud to introduce this innovative new technique in our pumpkin patch and look forward to sharing more details with you. Follow us on social media for crops updates and stories about our farm.
