Creating an edible arrangement not only adds festivity to your table, it also creates a welcoming  embellishment to your home while personalizing your holiday table. Everyone will just love and rave about this sustainable way to embellish your home as the entire decoration display not only is beautiful to look at but delicious as well!

To start, plan the area you wish to display your design based on the size of your table, the platters that you have available and where you want to feature your arrangement. Harmonize the color scheme and design with your surroundings and be sure to add some variety of color, texture and height if possible. Next decide if you want to have a sweet or savory arrangement based on which which course you would like to serve the edible arrangement during the appetizer or dessert. Or you may decide to create an arrangement based on what you have available on hand. Then get to work creating with some of these fun ideas we have specially curated just in time for the holidays!

Easily create a Christmas tree from cut vegetables and pretzel sticks by arranging cut cauliflower and broccoli florets flat on a platter to represent the tree limbs alternating as you go for color variety.  Then add some pretzels rods or sticks or even thinly sliced carrot sticks for the tree base. Popping in a bit of color from red or yellow cherry tomatoes make for great faux ornaments or use dried cranberries instead. Easily add a faux garland by using roasted red peppers or finely cut yellow, orange or red pepper strips for a beautiful enhancement.  Embellish to your hearts desire making it truly unique and your own remembering to have fun!

Check out one of our most requested videos from last year featuring our Hospitality Manager, Melinda, showing you how quick and easy it is to make a Christmas Tree edible veggie platter like the one included in this blog. This is a great activity to get the entire family involved or choose to have this prepared in advance to wow your guests when they arrive. The best part of this is that there is little or no clean up as it’s all edible, yum!

Another easy idea is to create a cheese, meat and olive wreath which can be served as an appetizer. Start by arranging cheese cubes or mozzarella cubes in a circular pattern on a large dish or use folded salami secured to a toothpick with a chunk of parmesan or provolone cheese. Arrange the toothpicks into a spiral pattern on the tray toantipasto holiday wreath resemble a circular pattern.  Next add stuffed olives to the wreath to represent your faux berries. Tuck in fresh snipped herbs, baby kale or lettuces to make the wreath look more realistic, rosemary works great too! This edible wreath appetizer transports well making it a great hostess gift.

If sweet is more your favorite you may easily design a dessert arrangement using colorful citrus fruits, small cupcakes, muffins or chocolate dipped fruit into an upright Christmas Tree shape. Using a fresh pineapple as your core makes for a beautiful tree mold for adhering the sliced fruits, mini muffins or chocolate covered strawberries or blueberries onto. Simply use toothpicks to secure your dessert items onto the pineapple core making sure to keep the smaller items at the top in keeping with the conical shape. Top your tree with a citrus star secured by toothpicks for a truly stunning centerpiece. If traveling, this piece is best assembled in place.

There you have it! An edible arrangement masterpiece is within reach and by adding your own personal touches to your table it will compliment your tablespace even further. Using artfully folded napkins, festive table runners or your treasured grandma’s heirloom china plates to adorn your table all combine to create a truly enchanting and personalized holiday table!

Best wishes from our farm kitchen to yours!
