September 15th through October 15th, 2022 marks Hispanic Heritage month. Hispanic Heritage month is a celebration honoring the contributions of Americans with roots from Spain, Mexico, Central & South America along with the Caribbean. We will be highlighting some of the Hispanic heritage contributions provided by our valuable team members all month long. This week’s highlight is on Hector Garrido native to Guatemala. Hector has been a part of our farm production team for about 15 years and brings valuable farming knowledge and insights to our team. Hector owns a farm back home in Guatemala that his family continues to farm.

Hector is part of the farm production management team consisting of Craig Steely, John Ferrante and Hector. The three manage the over 600 acres of farmland in Chester & Washington Township responsible for planning, cultivating, sowing and harvesting over 250 types of fruits and vegetables in season using a variety of farming methods including high tunnel growing, no-till planting and regenerative farming. Each member of the team brings forth their specialty that contributes to the whole of the group. We are so blessed to have this dedicated crew to grow food for you and me! Watch this video of Hector excited to talk about how we plant our apple trees for greatest yield, proper growing and easier maintenance. Enjoy!
