Restoring and Preserving
Alstede Farms commemorated the opening of a fourth location, Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms, with a grand opening weekend on April 1st & 2nd. The grand opening included free samples, giveaway’s and an “all-smiles” guest appearance by the Stanlick Family, the original operators of Lindeken Farms. (Pictured is the Alstede & Stanlick Families at the Grand Opening).
Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms is located at 54 Route 15 and the corner of Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson Township. The farm market is open every day serving fresh baked goods, farm-fresh dairy and egg products, fresh produce, seasonal items, plants, and so much more.
Our team took great care to restore and preserve the Lindeken Farm Market so that we could continue the legacy created by the Stanlick family back in 1949. The entire renovation project was a success made possible by a collaboration of talented individuals spearheaded by Farmer Kurt Alstede, Owner and General Manager along with Trish Cirelli, Assistant Retail Operations Manager. This project has been a real team effort as our collective crew worked together to have our farm market open and completed on-time in less than 60 days. We are proud to continue improving families’ quality of life by providing locally grown, nutritious, and delicious produce. You can enjoy a video of the Grand Opening by clicking here.
Time and Teamwork
Trish put a lot of time into coordinating and the details including the interior layout and color scheme, overseeing our maintenance and grounds team, as well as too many other logistics to mention that allowed the project to run smoothly and be completed in less than 60 days. Trish has this to say about her experience opening up a farm market of this caliber. “The project has been a proud moment in my history of working on the farm over the past 11 years. The best part of the opening was seeing Nancy Stanlick and the entire Stanlick family’s amazed and grateful expressions when viewing the finished product.” When asked what moments made her most proud, she answered, “honestly, I’m proud of a lot of things I’ve done, but I don’t know if I’ve been this proud of so many people for many different things” than with the completion of this project. Trish offers special thanks to Veliko, Sarah, Stacy, Crystal, our building and grounds crew, along with so many others who contributed toward the project success.
Experience and Knowledge
Veliko is the Assistant Retail Manager of the newest location. We interviewed him for this article and here’s what he had to say. “My name is Veliko and I have been working at Alstede Farms for 11 years. I am originally from Bulgaria and I learned a lot through the years by working with very experienced and knowledgeable coworkers who made me who I am and where I stand today at this company. I have the privilege now to lead our newest location Alstede Fresh at Lindeken and I am very excited and proud to do so.”
Veliko was instrumental with product selection, merchandising and store layout to ensure your shopping experience is convenience and satisfying. Veliko is ready to assist you with eating in season tips, and can help you select the best products for your family. Veliko’s motto is a simple yet poignant one, “Once in your life you will need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman, and a preacher, but every day, three times a day, you need a farmer “. We invite you to stop by the newest location and meet Veliko and see why so many others have praised his charming personality and have become friends.
