July is one of the busiest—and tastiest—months on the farm. Out in the fields, we’re planting, harvesting, and caring for crops that feed our community all summer long. Crops like early peaches, green beans, and sweet corn are now coming into season, making it a perfect time to eat farm fresh.
To keep up with demand and ensure a steady harvest, we rely on succession planting—especially for favorites like sweet corn. By planting in staggered intervals, we can provide a consistent supply of fresh produce for our market and pick-your-own fields. At the same time, we’re mindful of how we use resources. Our farm uses trickle irrigation systems and retention ponds to conserve water, ensuring every drop is used efficiently and sustainably.
We believe a farm is more than just where food grows; it’s where connections are made. That’s why we create opportunities for families to experience farm life firsthand. Join us on Saturday, July 20, for our Farm-to-Table Blueberry Pancake Breakfast, a delicious way to start your day before heading out to the fields to pick your own fruit. It’s a celebration of fresh flavors and a great way to fuel up for a fun-filled morning on the farm.
Later this month, we’re also bringing back a family favorite, Christmas in July, happening on July 25. It’s a festive and playful way to explore the farm, with activities designed to make learning about agriculture interactive and exciting. Learn more about it here.
From planting to plate, we’re here to share the joy of eating seasonally and locally, with hands in the soil and hearts in the harvest. Find loads of inspirational recipes and ways to love your veggies on our website.
