Savor the Flavors of Sweet Corn & Tomato Season

Summer is still going strong, and two of our most-loved crops are at their peak—Alstede Fresh sweet corn and vine-ripened tomatoes. Whether you’re slicing up juicy Jersey tomatoes for a caprese salad or buttering a just-picked ear of sweet corn, now is the time to enjoy these flavors at their absolute best.

We grow 30 acres of sweet corn in two delicious varieties—bi-color and white. Our corn is hand-harvested at sunrise for the freshest taste possible, with natural sweetness and tender kernels perfect for grilling, steaming, or enjoying straight off the cob.

Our tomatoes are just as abundant, with over 10 acres planted in a rainbow of varieties, including plum, heirloom, yellow, red round, green, grape, and several types of cherry tomatoes. Each one is bursting with flavor that only comes from being grown right here on the farm.

Celebrate the season with us at our Sweet Corn & Tomato Festival! Enjoy pick-your-own fields, farm-fresh tastings, live music, delicious food, and a stroll through our Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail—the perfect backdrop for summer photos.

How to Grill Sweet Corn
Grilling brings out the natural sweetness of fresh corn while adding a smoky, charred flavor. Simply peel back the husks (but don’t remove them), remove the silk, brush the kernels with olive oil or melted butter, season with salt, then pull the husks back up. Grill over medium heat for about 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred. Watch our video here.
